Interior Selections Specialist

Hours: FT (in studio)
Pay range: Starts at $70K
Benefits: 10 days PTO + nine major holidays and your birthday (20 days total), 401K eligible after one year, health care after a 90-day introductory period

Location: Malvern, PA
Duties and responsibilities
- Design Development: Collaborate with builders, architects, and clients to establish design concepts, focusing on finishes for floors, walls, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.
- Material Selection: Source and specify construction finishes that align with aesthetic goals, functional requirements, and budget constraints.
- Technical Coordination: Review architectural and construction plans to ensure compatibility of finishes with design intent, providing detailed documentation when necessary.
- Project Management: Oversee the finish selection process from concept to completion, managing timelines, approvals, and change requests effectively.
- Client Interaction: Lead design presentations, guide clients through material selection, and provide expert advice to achieve their vision.
- Vendor Collaboration: Work with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain samples, pricing, and technical information for finishes.
- On-Site Support: Conduct site visits to ensure the accurate implementation of design specifications and address challenges with the construction team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience specializing in construction finishes
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative design

Work Environment
- Functions primarily in an office, on-site at construction jobs, and/or vendor showrooms
- An open desk environment to encourage creativity and teamwork, paired with private meeting rooms for virtual calls or smaller group meetings when privacy and focus are needed
- Requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
- Position demands excellent vision (with or without correction) and the ability to use fingers, hands, and arms for computer and phone work
- Occasional travel to client locations and the ability to move inventory up to 40 pounds as needed
